The Maritime Museum of Chios invites you
to an exhibition of photographs on the theme
‘Τhe Ships of Wishes’
In co-operation with the school authorities of Chios
The exhibition is a photographic record of the rich symbolism which a ‘ship’s cargo’ brings to traditional local life. It is also the culmination of three years’ effort by the High Schools and Lyceums of Chios to continue the tradition of making model ships for New Year to bring in the year’s luck and hope, most of these are very imaginative creations using very ordinary or unusual items.
